VALLENMOOR: The Rust Swarm

The story

In the fog-choked, rusted canyon world of Vallenmoor, scavenger Mara Vane and her apprentice Kaelen unearth an intact fusion battery inside an abandoned iron hangar. The battery's intense electromagnetic hum awakens the Rust Colossus—a 100-foot subterranean arthropod plated in oxidized iron—and its relentless swarm of larvae. Fleeing onto the towering suspended gantries that span the canyon abyss, they are ambushed by veteran survivor Jax, who attempts to steal the core before being dragged into the mist by swarming larvae. Forced down into the desolate Ash Basin and through the creature's subterranean egg hive, Mara realizes the Colossus is tracking the battery's electrical signature. Reaching the final Sky-Lift Platform during a blinding dust storm, Mara rigs the power cell directly into the elevator's industrial winch and overcharges it. As the massive creature breaches the floor to devour the energy source, Mara discharges the entire high-voltage arc straight into its gaping mandibles, electrifying the titan and plummeting its corpse into the abyss while the lift carries the survivors into the safe upper atmosphere.
