AUREN'S FALL: The Echoing Sky

The story

Ten-year-old Lyra, a nimble explorer with a knack for climbing, lives with her loyal, oversized sky-fox, Flicker, on the edge of a floating island in Auren's Fall. Their world is a collection of landmasses suspended in an endless sky, powered by ancient, glowing 'sky-keys.' One day, a sudden tremor dislodges a priceless sky-key from a distant, towering mesa, sending it plummeting into the perilous lower currents. Lyra, having overheard hushed tales of its power, knows it must be recovered before it's lost forever, or worse, found by the notorious airship captain, Silas. With Flicker's incredible sense of smell guiding her, Lyra navigates dangerous updrafts, ancient crumbling sky-bridges, and encounters bizarre sky-creatures. She reaches the key just as Silas’s massive, steam-powered airship arrives. A tense chase ensues across the unstable lower islands, with Lyra using her agility and knowledge of the currents to outwit Silas’s bumbling crew. Finally, she confronts Silas in a decaying sky-temple where the key has come to rest. Using a clever distraction and Flicker's surprising strength, Lyra secures the sky-key. She then uses it to stabilize the shifting islands, saving her home and the entire floating world from further chaos, solidifying her reputation as a true sky-hero.
