ASTERIA: The Clockwork Jungle

The story

On the living gear-world of Asteria, twelve-year-old tinkerer Pip and her mischievous brother Kit live alongside 'Gears', a gentle twelve-foot moss-covered automaton. When a solar storm drains Gears' glowing ember heart, the automaton freezes midway down an elevator cog, risking permanent total shutdown as night approaches. Pip and Kit embark on a high-stakes climb through five visual layers of the canopy—dodging territorial iron-swans, leaping across swinging pendulum bridges, and evading a ruthless salvage-scavenger named Vane who wants to dismantle Gears for scrap. Kit uses his agility to balance on turning shaft-cogs while Pip hotwires ancient mechanical lifts. At the climax on the high mountain peak, Vane corners them, but Gears pushes through his final reserve of power to block a falling iron gate, protecting the kids. Pip successfully aligns the parabolic glass mirrors at the Apex Forge, funneling sunlight directly into Gears' core, re-igniting him in a blinding wave of golden light that blasts Vane away and restores life to the entire mechanical jungle.
